Top: Shutterbug vintage
Ring & bracelet: Shutterbug
We all have that 'Cheers' creature comfort hang out, be it a coffee shop, bar or even chilling out at the beach, and since moving to Kilkenny, Shutterbug has become mine. A vintage sister company to the online girlie grungey store folkster.com there is little I don't love about it. The decor, stock, sales assistants, customer service, yes Shutterbug has made me fall in love with shopping locally again. The friendly faces means I have become a weekly visitor and quickly built up a full shopping cart of goodies.
Once again I was contacted by Xpose magazine to style up my Kilkenny street look and it also gave me a chance to showcase all my favourite Shutterbug pieces. I have had my eye on this lace 'Anouska' kimono (€50) for some time now and it will be perfect for Summer festivals or even now over jumpers and jeans. The Xpose theme was 'monochrome' and I resisted using past season white-black colour-blocking to show you instead a trans-seasonal look. I opted for pops of 'mono' to carry your winter wardrobe into spring instead of a full black and white combo, which in my eyes has been done already. I've had lots of winter wear out of this black fedora and I brightened up this party sequin top by combining with a softer pastel hue. Shutterbug have a huge range of sequin jackets, tops and dresses which are once off pieces which is extra special. This pink flared hem skirt is from Zara 2013 but shop a similar alternatives here, here and here
Although today was a break in the recent rainfall, I could not bear the artic spring air biting at my legs and these dernier 10 tights from Penneys / Primark for €3 will suffice until the sun becomes a regular feature. Unfortunately it meant that these super sweet Sophia Webster boots weren't done justice. These sheer and patent polka monochrome booties is an excellent example of 'mono pattern' this Spring / Summer. So think, polka, floral and stripes ard you have this years twist on monochrome.
In other news: I was contacted on Friday to say that I am a finalist in next months Kerry Fashion Week 2014 'Blogger of the Year' award! To say I am over the moon is an understatement! I was nominated for a couple of awards last year but to actually make it as a finalist in the same catagory as Retro Flame, Concrete Collar and Orla Sheridan is surreal and extremely flattering. The winner will be announced on the 8th of March at a black tie event in Kilarney. I am already searching for the perfect formal dress! And I don't need an excuse to shop!
Xpose magazine is out 1st March
Until next time Ducklings,
Love Vera Xx
