Miss Dior

For those of you that follow my blog religiously (there's a handful of you at least anyway) you may be wondering why I haven't been polluting the Twitter and Instagram world of late with updates and pics from London Fashion Week which commenced on Friday. I had meant to travel over to join Orla Kiely's press team but for personal reasons during the week I had to pull out of my plans to travel. It wasn't an easy decision by any means but I look forward to heading in September instead and for the meantime having some spare cash in my pocket!

As I had been collecting accessories the period coming up to fashion week to style with Ms Kiely's collection I wasn't going to let it the opportunity go to waste this weekend and decided to replicate the look I was going to do at fashion week. One of the gorgeous pieces I bought was this 1950's Christian Dior floral hat from an American vintage store. I had become infatuated with these hats after a Le Chat Noir Vintage fashion show last year and dreamt about styling for ladies day at the races or even an updated version of the floral crown for Summer festivals. As much I love it, I am hoping to sell it on. If you are interested in the Dior piece you can drop me a mail at yuckyduckfashion@gmail.com Brit brand Johnny Loves Rosie do some alternative gorgeous floral garland headbands at high street prices.

One of the key pieces I could not wait to get my hands on was Orla Kielys Summer trench coat here and this Topshop version isn't too far off the designer piece tag. Orla is know for her 60's swirls and I got this on-trend monochrome full midi skirt last year from Asos (similar here).  These sexy knee-high knit socks are from Topshop also as I tip my hat to Prada's legwarmer craze this Summer (similar here), and my DVF bag and Sophia Webster booties were both past presents. Sophie's boots haven't been given a full run of yet as they are extremely uncomfortable and more of a car to bar shoe!

As the Kerry Fashion Week Industry Awards approach I am delighted that I have another favourite designer label of mine on board to dress me for the night! I don't think I've ever been so organised in my life (or so my mother says) but I am so pleased to get my first choice of outfit. The next few weeks will be spent organising the nitty gritty details and I can't wait to share more with you nearer the time. There's only 3 weeks to go!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend,
Until next time Ducklings,
Love Vera Xx
