Summer sizzlin' skullboy & the social fashion experiment

This week's glorious hot weather spell unfortunately meant a lull in laptop and bloggin' time. I just couldn't justify sitting indoors while the sun freakish-ly belted down on Ireland's pale and freckled folk. I am beginning to turn in to a fully fledged eBay hunter and was delighted when my newest bargain steal came in the post. I had craved this weirdly wonderful skullboy tee by JW Anderson last year and deeply regretted my decline of its invitation to join my wardrobe.

Another weighing factor in the non-past purchase was its hefty euro price tag of €61. You can imagine my delight when I managed to snap one up last month for a cool €8 which was brand new with tags from eBay UK. This tee is one of many purchases I have made from Mr Anderson's Topshop collaboration from the past year. I have become an Anderson addict.

I had lusted over a cute Lulu Guinness clutch for some time now but it begged the question, 'how much does one spend on a novelty bag?' I decided to do a social fashion experiment and after a decent tip on the GAA hurling games last weekend, I placed a ten euro accumulator bet on three wins. The betting pundit nearly had to pull the tenner from the clenched paw as I accepted the risks and prayed to the cosmos for a break. After the final whistle blew on the Leinster final I raced down to Paddy Power where in a turn of events from the previous visit, I smacked my docket down on the counter in glee.

Money has been tight of late, so finding these steals has been such an uplift as I try to feed my shopping problem/need/addiction. I was saving the clutch for a wedding next month but got a little over enthused in sharing its origin with you. I picked up the bowler hat form ASOS last year, and my shoes are from Penneys / Primark new stock SS13 in store now. My cigarette trousers are from The Kooples AW12 collection. The French trend of mixing navy and blacks together much to the disgust of many Irish are very high fashion, and expect to see navy take control this AW13. If you're looking for a pair of high quality cigarette trousers I can't recommend the quality and fit of The Kooples ones enough.

Also, I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me in the OohLaLa blog awards. I really appreciate all the encouraging messages and canvassing and I can only hope and wish that I'll make the final 12 which will be announced on July 23rd. What's meant for you won't pass you.

Lastly (and most importantly) I have to announce the winner of my latest blog competition in association with Samantha Kennedy Designs. Both Samantha and I had a fantastic response and I hope that you will continue to check out her newest editions to her collection. So the winner is.....

Amy O'Sullivan
