I'm really a Mermaid..

The sunny rays and the bank holiday vibe has put me in such a good mood as I write this post today. I've kinda had a naughty weekend as I picked up some serious bargains on eBay today. Unfortunately they won't come for a few weeks but I'll be like a dog with a bone when they arrive! I met up with good friends and ex work colleagues on Saturday night as we headed into the city to celebrate a birthday. These ladies have serious style cred (& are complete fashionaholics) so I decided I would wear something new for the photo opportunity occasion.

We had a bit of a blog 'photo-shoot' outside before we jumped in a taxi, much to the amusement of my friend's neighbour who creeped out the window across the lane. I had a lot of people asking about my aqua sequin skirt and it's from misguided.eu for a bargain €18 in the sale HERE. Despite its reduced price it's a well made piece  with only a handful of sequins falling off despite our energetic dance moves in The Secret Garden HERE.

I wore a cropped black Topshop blazer for our car-to-bar stroll along with my rose gold River Island watch (similar HERE). To make the look more 'grunge' I themed the skirt with an 'Ozzy Osbourne' tank I bought from Topshop.com HERE for £25. The 'skeletor' depiction of the rock icon has a relaxed fit with real leather trim on both shoulders. I tied the ends of the tank behind my back in knot (rather than just tucking it into my skirt) so that you could see the whole graphic.

My best angry 'rock' face
The whole look was finished with this hair chain diamante accessory I bought from River Island on Saturday (buy HERE) for €13 and has a notable 'Gatsby' feel to it. They had various styles in store but I liked the subtly of this silver piece, and brought strands of my hair out over the band so that it would sit on my hair-line. I'm definitely going to look for another more extravagant piece for a future outfit.
I had a giggle after I bought this gorgeous sequin skirt when it arrived when I realised where my attraction for it came from. I think I may have been a mermaid in another life, and even dressed up as one for my fancy-dress themed 21st birthday and found this photo earlier in my laptop from 4 years ago..
Fashion definitely comes full circle!
Before I sign off I'd like to thank a fan of my blog who sent this gorgeous bulls head necklace! It's extra special too as there is no Forever21 store in Cork.
Thank you so much Kayleigh, I can't wait to style it!
Be sure to check out June's issue of Xpose magazine and check back for competition details on my blog later this week!
Until next time Ducklings,
Love Vera Xx

  1. Love your skirt!

Be great if you could check out my latest bodysuit outfit posts and let me know which your favourite is: The Neon Bodysuit or The Tiger Bodysuit?

    Thanks! Charlie xx
