Global Partyin', Blog Awards & more Street Stylin'

Last night I attended one of the 360 parties held around the world as part of  the Global Party series which involves an invite only event in aid of a chosen local charity. The event was orchestrated by Pulse Modelling Agency, The Savoy Cork and the Global Party Organisation to raise funds for the Cork Simon Community which has been providing a bed for those in need since 1966.

On the red carpet at the Global Party Event Cork

I had stated a few weeks back that I had purchased some online goodies, and this Celine t-shirt was one which came from eBay (€13) Celine tees seem to be the 'it' trend of bloggers at the moment, all thanks to Rihanna, with copies flooding the online market. In fact, there are so many replicas of this top that I couldn't honestly tell whether it was authentic or not, until it arrived, minus the care tags.

Since putting up an image of myself at the event last night I have been inundated with comments about my skirt. I am ashamed to say it is not in fact Mary Katrantzou SS13 which retails for €775. I discovered a Chinese online clothing company called Romwe.com and it was there I bought it from for a mere €30. If I were Mary I wouldn't be too pleased. Romwe only stocked 5 of these pieces in total and they are now sold out. Can you tell the difference below?

The one on the left is the replica.
As some of you may know I am a MAJOR Mary Katrantzou fan, and I even wore one of her dresses to my University graduation last year. I can only imagine that she is an avid fan of my blog and is straight on the phone to her lawyers after discovering this too close-to-the-bone copy of her workmanship!

My accessories included a black clutch from New Look (€8) and my shoes were a sneaky new purchase of new SS13 stock from Penneys / Primark for €15. Due to my chest size round neck tees can be very unflattering, so I sported a chunky gold necklace to draw attention back to the neckline. Finally my tiger ear tunnels are from Asos (€8). My whole outfit (not including my rings) came in for under €80 despite its high designer feel.

For any of you that may follow me on TWITTER or FACEBOOK you will have seen that one of my lovely readers has nominated me for a fashion blog award in conjunction with OOHLALA Magazine. This magazine has previously invited me to write a piece for them in a future issue so you can imagine how ecstatic I was to be also now nominated for an award.
I really would appreciate if you would take 30s of your time to vote for me in the best newcomer, fashion and best blog catagories by entering my URL: yuckyduckfashion.blogspot.com to make me a finalist HERE  I am really proud that I had managed to grow my blog and have used it as a positive personal tool despite being unemployed. PLEASE PLEASE help me make the final 12! If I do I promise to do an awesome giveaway.
On a final note, I am featured today in The Irish Examiner Street Trend segment. I love the whole look and I'm glad I took a gamble on my outfit. I managed to mix luxury brands, high street and eBay steals. What do you think?

My competition with designer Samantha Kennedy begins on Monday so check back for all the exciting details. You won't want to miss it!
Until next time Ducklings,
Love Vera Xx
