Ladies who lunch

Hi y'all! I'd firstly like to thank everyone for their kind reaction to last nights post! As a result of the positive feedback I got, I have been busy all day dealing with various business' in relation to collaborating together. I've got some exciting competitions in the pipeline which I will share with you in the next few days. As someone who has had no previous experience in marketing, PR or business studies and instead thought it was a good idea to do four science subjects for their Leaving Cert (Irish A-Levels), every little achievement has been seen to me as a huge victory in driving forward my blog into something bigger. So let's cut the waffle and talk fashion!
Last Friday I had the honour of being invited to the Cork Fashion Bloggers Lunch, hosted by the lovely Grace McNulty, held in The Electric restaurant in Cork City (a regular hanut of mine). I was somewhat apprehensive about what I wore and such, but instead it transpired that the whole lunch would have a laid back and warm feel, and not at all competitive in which I dreaded it would be. The food was fabulous and so were the guests as we discussed ideas for Cork Fashion Week 2013.
My outfit for the day was a combination of different trends and styles. I paired my sweatshirt and somewhat casual Kenzo jumper with a fabulous fifties monocrome midi skirt. My Sporty-Spice-esque ponytail allowed my spike and punk inspired necklace to shine despite my mop of hair. My outfit was topped off with my black Louboutin courts (which I always wear when I mean business). In theory the outfit shouldn't of worked but i'm really pleased with the styling gamble I took.
Jumper: Ebay
Skirt: Asos
Necklace: Topshop

After I said my goodbyes to the fashionistas at Electric I rushed off to Silversprings to attend Xpose Live. Xpose is an Irish fashion and celebrity TV show that airs daily on TV3 (if Gok Wan and E! News were to have a baby this would be it). The place was jammed with stalls, stands and of course regular fashion shows. My favourite finds of the night had to be Cork boutique Brocade & Lime with their fifties inspried fashion and Dublin store; So Amazing. The latter store had a beautiful array of statement necklaces and their stockists include Fran & Jane.

Tomorrow I'm spenting the day shooting for my competition in association with Finns Corner Sports, and as well as that I will have the first of my holiday outfit posts online too. Make sure you pick up tomorrows Evening Echo to read my style Q&A!
Hope you're all having a fabulous week like me,
Until next time Ducklings,
Love Vera Xx
