I was excited to wear my new JW Anderson pieces which I bought from my preloved sale earnings. Northern Irish man, JW Anderson loves to 'blur the lines between gender in his collections' and there is nothing I enjoy more than stealing my boyfriend's jumper or so when I get the chance! Still in his twenties, Anderson has won money fashion awards, including British Fashion Award 2012 in emerging talent- ready to wear. He presents a collection of homogeneous pieces with masculine cuts and feminine touches. His lilac skirt (RRP €137) is a made from a neoprene material which can only be described between a mix of scuba and crepe material. I strolled around Chester on Saturday shopping, and wore it with Anderson's white dodo jumper, white loafers and black Topshop leather jacket.
It was the skirts second outing as I also wore it to the confirmation. It was a sunny Spring day and i was lucky enough to ditch the tights. I picked up the lime necklace for €5 in Penney's and my grey blazer was from Topshop a few years back with a white tee. Dads around Ireland in socks-in-sandals must be rejoicing as that look is becoming a big trend this summer. I bought a pair of cute turquoise ankle socks in Topshop and wore them with my LK Bennett shoes. I initially wore them to the church before taking them off for dinner in Fernhill due to one too many odd looks. I don't think Bandon is quite ready for frilly skirts with lacy socks, in pom-pom shoes yet.
It'll be a while before we see men in skirts in Cork yet though I feel...
Until next time Ducklings,
Love Vera xX
